Parks Canada presents the Battle of the Windmill National Historic Site of Canada, located on Windmill Point overlooking the St. Lawrence River. This fragment of the ‘Battle of the Windmill’ was part of the Patriot War, Rebellions of 1837. It was fought in the aftermath of the Upper Canada Rebellion by the red-roofed windmill.
Go to the Windmill and look over the river imagining an invading force from the United States called ‘Hunters’ sailing across to fight with British Army and Canadian Militia for Upper Canada land.
