Big Head is a sculpture created by the artist Al Henderson. The sculpture was inspired by Canmore’s name. The town of Canmore was named after an early king of Scotland, Malcolm, who became known as Malcolm Canmore, from the Gaelic language, meaning “Great Head” or “Chief.”

Big Head is a local landmark and tourist sight and occasionally gets dressed up for town festivities.
