Red Lodge Guest Ranch & Ropes Course

This beautiful historical family-owned ranch is run by the Bradshaw family, inviting guests to come to experience the country life for more than 25 years. The ranch grounds include a restaurant, 17 rustic cabins, a meeting hall, an indoor riding area, and more! They offer a wide variety of activities for everyone, such as working with cattle, horseback riding, harnessing, and a lot more for you to discover.

Near the ranch is the Red Lodge Ropes Course, an extensive outdoor rope adventure ideal for building excellent teamwork skills. Their facility is a great retreat to strengthen team bonding, team building, and team development amongst colleagues. They provide the experience of a lifetime to corporations, sports teams, and those who simply want to have fun! They generally require a minimum of 6 guests, who must be 14 years or older. Visit if you want to experience a new adventure while learning new skills!

Red Lodge Provincial Park

This provincial park is located about 15 km west of Bowden, along the shores of the Little Red Deer River. The campground has 41 campsites for guests and accommodates RVs, with a general supply store that sells firewood. For those who want to visit with their children, the park also has a playground for them to enjoy!

Access to the river allows guests to go fishing and indulge in swimming when water levels are safe. For those who prefer to take a nature walk by the river, this location offers geocaching activities and nature-themed discovery packs to explore the grounds! Drip by the Red Lodge Provincial Park for a weekend getaway, surrounded by the wonders of nature!

Bowden Sun Maze & Eagle Creek Farms

Gardens open from August to September

This gorgeous sunflower maze is spread over 10 acres of land, with patches of organic sunflowers as far as the eye can see. They also have 3 acres of u-pick flowers and vegetables that can be harvested in their gardens from early August to mid-September. They offer a selection of 15 or more vegetables in the u-pick garden, which includes potatoes, beets, carrots, and more.

Their admissions are fairly priced at $11 for adults and $7 for children. They are a pet-friendly place, meaning you can bring your furry friends with you to the maze! Spend a wonderful summer afternoon at the Eagle Creek Farms’ gardens and enjoy the magnificent sunflowers with the whole family!

Pearson’s Berry Farm

This berry farm was the first commercial orchard of Saskatoon Berries in the world, founded in 1969. They have shared their techniques for growing berries in Canadian prairies, helping other orchards grow in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Their specialty revolves around handcrafted gourmet baked goods and food products. They use local fruits and ingredients to make their goods, which can be purchased at various locations throughout Alberta. Some products include fruit pies, pumpkin tarts, butter tarts, fruit spreads, and much more. Plan a trip to the farm to witness the origins of these savoury products!

Bowden Pioneer Museum

Open from early June to late August

The local museum is located in a historic Anglican Church, operated by the Bowden Historical Society. Visitors can learn more about the past of the town of Bowden and explore its captivating artifacts, with guided tours offered to guests.

It contains many historical photos captured by a local photographer, “Bob” Hoare, whose photo studio first opened in 1904. Other displays include Irene M. Wood’s collection of over 6,000 Avon products, Alberta Provincial Eastern Star exhibits, Chamber of Commerce Avenue of local businesses in Bowden, and more. See what the local history has to convey!

Starlite Diner Car

This old-fashioned diner car has a friendly atmosphere that takes you back in time, offering flavorful Canadian cuisine to visitors. Their menu includes amazing hamburgers, roasted sandwiches, poutine, pancakes, milkshakes, delicious coffee, and much more. The staff is very friendly to their customers, contributing to the distinguished service of this restaurant. Bowden Hi-Way Golf Course

The local golf course proposes a nine-hole fun getaway for novice and experienced golfers. They have wide fairways and tricky greens, allowing golfers to test their skills or simply have a fun outing. This family-friendly place has everything you need, from Jack’s Kitchen in the clubhouse and a Gasoline Alley 18 minutes away.

They occasionally hold golf leagues and tournaments, such as Senior League every Tuesday morning and “Men’s and Ladies Open” 18-hole shotgun. Jack’s Kitchen

This serene restaurant is located in the clubhouse of the Bowden Hi-Way Golf course, providing Western and Chinese cuisine. This restaurant is owned by a wonderful local family and is renowned for having some of the best Chinese food in Central Alberta. Many reviews praise their ginger beef, sweet and sour pork, and lemon chicken. The service is exceptional, and the tables are always kept clean. If you’re in the area, drop by Jack’s Kitchen for a bite to eat!

River Ridge RV Park

Open from May 1st to September 30th

This RV community grants a comfortable retreat to visitors who want to come camping in the Bowden area. They are a pet-friendly place with 70 full-service sites, which are welcoming to children and families alike. They have an extra site for those with their trailers and offer a Group Camping area to the public for impromptu campouts.

It is near the Little Red Deer River, a short distance from the Red Lodge Provincial Park. They offer various amenities, which include horseshoe pits, power, showers, and flushing toilets. Many activities can be found nearby, including fishing and swimming in the river on a hot summer day, along with golf tournaments at golf courses in the vicinity.

Bowden Igloo Arena

A local ice rink is a great place for people to play hockey or go skating. They are home to Bowden’s Minor Hockey league and their Figure Skating Club. The arena is an esteemed space for recreational activity in the winter but can also be booked in spring and summer for other activities such as lacrosse. Come visit to partake in some activities in the local environment!
