Sandbanks Provincial Park

You must visit the Sandbanks Provincial Park while in Burgeo, as it is one of the town’s main attractions. The sand dunes, beautiful sandy beaches, and blue water surrounded by a forest allow this site to provide you with the opportunity of enjoying a gorgeous view.

Burgeo Haven

Burgeo Haven is a great bed and breakfast where you can spend a few days during your stay in the town.

The rooms are cozy and provide you with comfort during your stay. The location of this bed and breakfast allows you to have a scenic view of the water. This site allows visitors access to some super fun activities. You can go kayaking, canoeing, hiking, or fishing for a great experience.

Burgeo Memorial Museum

The Burgeo Memorial Museum is a great place to visit to expand your knowledge of the history of this town. The goal of this museum is to provide visitors with an understanding of the 400-year-old history of Burgeo.

Many exhibits display artifacts from different ships, as well as pieces that relate to furniture, shipbuilding, and carpentry. Make sure to visit this museum while in Burgeo for a fun learning experience.

Home Town of Farley Mowat

Farley McGill Mowat is one of Canada’s most widely read authors. His works were translated into 52 languages, and he sold more than 17 million books.

Mowat was born in 1921 in Belleville, Ontario and lived in Burgeo for five years during his time in Newfoundland.

Farley Mowat achieved fame by publishing his books on the Canadian north, such as People of the Deer (1952) and Never Cry Wolf (1963).

The Caribou Trail

The Caribou Trail is a highway you must cross to get to the town of Burgeo. This trail takes you through beautiful forests, allowing you to enjoy a nice view. If you keep an eye out the window as you cross this trail, you will probably be able to see some of the wildlife in the forest.

The Barachois Pond Provincial Park is a great site to visit while you are in the town of Burgeo. This beautiful site provides visitors access to a hiking trail and two amazing beaches perfect for swimming.

Aaron’s Arm Trail

You should visit Aaron’s Arm Trail to enjoy a fun and easy route. This trail takes approximately an hour and fifteen minutes to get through.

Although it may seem short, this is plenty of time for you to explore the beautiful sights that the town of Burgeo has to offer. You can hike through this trail for the opportunity to do some bird watching and enjoy the surrounding nature. This trail will ensure a fun and relaxing time for all visitors.
