Caledonia Bridge

One of Canada’s most notable and stunning bridges is the Caledonia Bridge. The structure is regarded as Ontario’s longest rainbow arch bridge.

Thanks to its unmatched number of spans, it might be the longest bridge of its kind in the entire country. Reinforced concrete is the primary structural material of the bridge. Compared to many other rainbow arch bridges in Ontario, this bridge’s spans are substantial and tower over a typical car. The Caledonia Bridge’s number of spans and overall length, in addition to their height, make it an equally stunning and graceful construction without comparison.

The bridge has good historic integrity because it hasn’t changed from its original design. It’s great for pictures and shows a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.

Grand Trunk Railway Station

The Grand Trunk Railway Station is a significant historical and cultural site humming with activity.

The Grand Trunk Railway built a brand-new station in the expanding town of Caledonia in 1908. Until the discontinuation of passenger operations on October 26, 1957, it remained a very busy location. Up until around 1977, express parcel service was offered here. Following them, the CNR used this station as a repair depot. The windows were boarded up in 1988.

Today it is a busy spot yet again and has become a year-round tourist attraction. It’s a great spot to take pictures and find local railway artifacts. You definitely don’t want to miss it.

Snyder’s Sweet Corn

Snyder’s Sweet Corn is the “go-to” place for buying fresh, delicious and juicy corn. The corn is picked fresh every day and sold the same day. Whatever remains at the end of the day gets sent to Hamilton Food Share and distributed to neighbouring communities.

It isn’t open all year round, so make a note to visit it after harvest season, which usually starts near the end of July. Their website always has the latest news on hours of operation for their farm stand. The lines are long and sell out fast, so get there early!
