This extremely affordable museum is perfect for baseball fans. It has three main features: the museum, The Harry Simmons Memorial Library, and the baseball fields. Visitors can learn about the rich history of baseball in Canada dating back to the 1700s with features such as the Vancouver Asahi and the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Spotlights of famous players such as Babe Ruth, Fergie Jenkins, and Roberto Clemente are displayed for fans to admire. Important moments from the Olympics and highlights from teams such as the Blue Jays and the Montréal Expos are depicted for insight.
The Harry Simmons Memorial library partnered with the Centre for Canadian Baseball Research (CCBR) to offer research files and a library. Volunteers maintain it as this organization is a non-profit. If you are part of a team, you will want to book a field for a day to enjoy a barbeque, ball games, a museum tour, swimming in the quarry, and watch a baseball movie.
