Originally inhabited by the Mi’kmaq Indigenous community, Cape Sable Island is a historic location in Barrington. On this island, historical events include the Siege of 1630 and the Cape Sable Island Raid in 1778. It is a popular bird-watching site, particularly for the Atlantic Brant. Visitors can also row a dowry at the shore.
