August

The town of Carbonear is one of the oldest permanent settlements in Newfoundland – from the late 1500s – and among the oldest European settlements in North America.

The weekend celebration takes place each August and is filled with many fun events such as walking and boat tours, activities for children, entertainment, and traditional food over five days.

The main attractions include Accordion Fest, the Raisin Bun Bake-off Contest, the Carbonear World Cup of Tiddly, and the Carbonear Day Parade.
