It was built in 1881, and this was the first ever schoolhouse in the area built under the Public Schools Act. The Colchester Schoolhouse strives to spread awareness about the historical past of the Colchester Centre and to preserve the information significant to the history of Colchester for later generations to come.

The Colchester Schoolhouse is a nice place to visit because you can learn about Colchester’s history and examine the old architecture of the building.
