Incorporated in 1975, the DeBolt & District Pioneer Museum has expanded from a tiny log house to convey the numerous tales of the Peace Country community.
Each building has its own objects of interest, ranging from the stunning Bickell paleontology display through First Nations artifacts, early settlement and farming, homemaking, beekeeping, on cattlemen with rodeo and sports history.
The DeBolt & District Museum Society has also published four books on local history (Across the Smoky, DeBolt Country Club and Agricultural Society 60th Anniversary, Edson to Grande Prairie Trail, and Bridges to the Past). For newcomers and tourists, it is an incredible presentation of the community’s history and culture.
