History

Desbrisay Museum is free of charge and can be visited all year round. The museum is located in Woodland Gardens and can be accessed through the trails. DesBrisay Museum was started in 1860 for artifacts collection by Mather Byles Desbrisay.

The museum has added more artifacts and historical objects that represent the heritage of Bridgewater and Lunenburg County. It has exhibits, workshops, and special events that are offered all year long to expand the knowledge of the heritage and culture of Bridgewater. It also has a gift shop with local history books, giftware and artistic pieces from local artists.
