Dr. George Kemp House

03

Dr. Henry George was a medical practitioner from England who moved to Innisfail in 1893. He was a pioneer of science, medicine, and museology. His home, also known as Lindum Lodge, served as a home for his medical practice. He built the first library of the Northwest Territories and founded the Alberta Natural History Society in 1906.

Dr. George/Kemp home overlooks Dodds Lake and is considered one of Innisfail’s earliest residences. It was built using local materials and restored to its 1920s appearance. Visit this local historical site to see the museum and tea room within!
