Ringette is a fast team sport on ice, and it was developed initially for girls and women of all ages. Ringette players use a straight stick to pass, carry and shoot a rubber ring to score goals. Ringette is a team sport with no contact allowed.
Espaniola is where the first experimental rules for ringette were created in 1963 by Mirl Arthur “Red” McCarthy using a group of local girls from the Espanola High School.
