Kaposvar Historical Site

Kapsovar, established in 1886, was one of the first Hungarian settlements in Canada.

Located just south of Esterhazy, the Kaposvar Historical Site is a mirror into history. The site features a large fieldstone church completed in 1907, a two-storey fieldstone rectory constructed in 1901, a fieldstone shrine, and a cemetery on landscaped grounds surrounded by a hedge.

There are tours offered of the Kapsovar and an annual pilgrimage in August.

Potash Interpretive Centre

Esterhazy is a potash town. Therefore, to get a true sense of the community, the Potash Interpretive Centre is a must-see.

The Interpretive Centre offers guests insights into how potash is mined, refined, and used and the history of potash.

Home Town of Dana Antal

Growing up playing boys Hockey in Esterhazy, Dana Antal would win Ivy League Women’s Hockey Rookie of the Year after a breakout season at Cornell University. Antal would win Gold at two IIHF World Women’s Championships and a Gold Medal at the 2002 Olympic Games.

The local arena is named in honour of Dana – the Dana Antal Arena. It is home to winter sports and activities.

Esterhazy Flour Mill

Built in 1907, the Esterhazy Flour Mill is the only standing wood-frame floor mill in Saskatchewan. The flour mill is now considered a National Historic Site of Canada!

The Esterhazy Flour Mill features almost all of the original equipment from 1907.

Esterhazy Community Museum

The Esterhazy Community Museum holds one of the nation’s best antique firearms collections, displays that will take you back to the early 20th century, and an abundance of early settler artifacts.

The building housing the museum was built in 1906 by one of the district’s first merchants.

Crooked Lake Provincial Park

Located just a short drive from Esterhazy, Crooked Lake Provincial Park is in the famous Qu’Appelle Valley.

Crooked Lake Provincial Park features a boat launch, hiking/biking trails, fishing, and a nearby golf course. In addition to all these amenities, Crooked Lake Provincial Park has electric and non-electric campsites.
