Now a National Historic Site, Fort Battleford was originally established in 1876. Visitors can visit the grounds inside and outside the fort and explore the historic buildings on-site. Abandoned in 1924, some of the buildings still available to discover today include original furniture.
The site is a great showcase of the stories of the First Nations, Métis, settlers, and North West Mounted Police. The fort is open from May to September, and self-guided tours are available.
