Fort Walsh National Historic Site was set up in 1875 under the way of James Walsh. It was proposed to stop the illicit whisky exchange and, quite possibly, the main posts in the West.
During its life, the stronghold haggled with the whisky brokers, the local people groups, and the many Sioux heroes who sought asylum in Canada after conflicts with the U.S. mounted force.
