The Bay of Fundy has the world’s highest tides, and the erosion caused by the tide and waves has exposed internationally significant fossils like those in Parrsboro. The cliffs along the Minas Basin to the east and west of Parrsboro contain fossils of prehistoric animals and plants.
Displayed at the Fundy Geological Museum, you can find Canada’s oldest dinosaur fossils. The extensive collection of fossils at the museum is something you need to see in person.
Additionally, you can partake in tours and experiences that take you onto the shore of the fossil cliffs, where you can look for fossils yourself. You’re not allowed to take anything home, but whatever fossils you find, you can have a worker examine and explain what you have.
Maybe you’ll find the next dinosaur!
