This trail makes up part of the Central Ontario Loop, yet its sense of local history gives it an individual identity. As 350 km of multi-use trail, the path follows an abandoned railway line. The trail begins in Glen Ross and extends Northward towards Lake St. Peter. Discover scenic lakes, picnic spots, abandoned mines, and old bridges along the way.

Central Ontario Loop Trail
As a multi-use trail, the Ontario Loop Trail is suitable for snowmobiling, walking, ATVing, biking, and more. The trail goes on for thousands of kilometres through different townships, lodges, resorts, and other such stopovers. Organized tours are offered but the trails can certainly be tackled at your own pace.
The trail itself is made of old rail line trails and secondary roads. It passes through Hastings, Haliburton, the city of Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, and Northumberland. To get yourself a map, a list of trail rules, and generally more information, visit the trail website below.
