Hastings Waterfront Festival

The Hastings Waterfront Festival takes place every summer right beside the Hastings Pisces Park on the Trent River. There are prize draws, contests, and activities for the whole family.

 

Visitors can check out the car show, and live entertainment on the water. There is also a fish fry, a vendor village street sale, food, and drink pavilions and much more to explore.

Pisces Pete

Pisces Park is a great place to enjoy a day in nature with the family. Located directly on the waterfront, there are spectacular sunset views and lots of green space to enjoy the outdoors. There are several popular fishing spots nearby

The park is best known for the fish monument, called Pisces Pete. Designed by a Canadian artist, Pisces Pete is a 12-foot-tall stainless-steel fish which marks the significance of the fishing industry in Hastings.

The Ultimate Fishing Town

Known for fishing, Hastings won the title of Ultimate Fishing Town Canada in 2012 and has the only bridge, in Ontario, where fishing is permitted.

We are home to a spectacular spawning bed that runs under the bridge, and you can watch the pickerel and perch navigate the waters in early spring.

Hastings Village Marina

Seasonal Business – Closed in Winter Months

This beautiful marina has beautiful views of rolling hills and the locks. There is a free boat launch, restrooms, showers, and the visitors centre has a small patio looking out over the water.

There are also several picnic tables by the docks, which make the perfect spot to enjoy a meal and watch the boats. The marina is also steps away from some great local restaurants and shops.

Lured Away Cottages

Located in the west-edge of the village of Hastings, the Lured Away Cottages make for a peaceful getaway in beautiful nature. They offer 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom cottages which are fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing weekend stay including TV’s patio furniture, fireplaces, and a gas BBQ.

The area is a great spot to go fishing or boating on Rice Lake and take in the beauty of the area. There is plenty of outdoor space, a playground for the kids, and spectacular views of the sunset over the water.

Tretonia Camp Resort offers large seasonal trailer and RV sites on the Trent Waterway System, just 1.3km away from the Hastings downtown. This great camping location has fishing and motorboat rentals, a sandy beach, and a playground area for the kids.

Activities on-site include beach volleyball, basketball, and horseshoes. There are several golf courses nearby and tons of natural beauty to enjoy.

McGillicafey’s Pub and Eatery

This popular restaurant serves pub classics and local favourites like fish and chips, loaded nachos and house-smoked brisket. They are well known for their gracious staff and spacious patio.

Hastings Field House

The Hastings Field House is a one-stop-shop for activities and sports. There is a well-kept Astro turf field that is well maintained, and there are also asphalt courts to accommodate every sport.

These multi-purpose courts are designed to host soccer, pickleball, tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton and more. There are spectator areas, fitness equipment, a 200m indoor track, and sporting equipment available for rent.

Hastings Cenotaph

Located in a memorial park, the Hastings Cenotaph is a war memorial to remember the soldiers who fought in the First World War.

The memorial is beautifully engraved featuring crossed rifles and swords, and the piece can be found at the main intersection in Hastings.
