Experience a panoramic view of Vankleek Hill from the town’s highest structure – the Higginson Tower! This watchtower was initially a gristmill built in 1830 by Lieutenant Thomas Higginson to help grind wheat and corn. Then from the works of his son, William Higginson, it became Eastern Ontario’s first private observatory.
Present day, there is free admission for visitors to climb up the tower. You can learn of the local history from storyboards and workers, look at the artifacts displayed, and have a picnic on the site!
