Born and raised in Petrolia, Michael Leighton is a former NHL goalie who played over 600 games of pro hockey between the NHL and AHL. Leighton was drafted 165^th overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks and would go on to play games for the Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, and Carolina Hurricanes.

Leighton retired from pro hockey in 2019 but is still the pride and joy of Petrolia.
