Two kilometres south of Lac-Simon village sits Lac de la Ferme, where ice fishing is common for most fishermen in the winter months. This lake is popular for the brook trout caught during this icy season. For those wanting a new experience, there are fishing packages offered that include drilled holes, a container of worms, as well as some hot drinks for when you’re coming back. However, you are encouraged to bring your folding chair! Bring your family with you for a unique experience of catching your fish. See them put a fight with the locals below the ice for your amusement, and snap some photos to show the relatives what you’ve been up to!
Reservations are required by phone at least 24 hours in advance. Check out the website for fishing packages to see what days of the week you can fish. All depend on ice conditions. Must have a fishing license, which can be acquired at Ultramar in Chenéville (The establishment also offers you lovely, comfortable, and well-equipped cottages that will allow you to reconnect with nature).
