Originally constructed in 1910 with locally made bricks, moulded-tin ceilings, and hardwood floors, this building was the town’s school until 1986. Now a museum, there are several themed rooms on display: The Fleming Collection, The Fleming’s Kitchen, The Western Gallery, The One-Room School, Hugh Varty’s Private Collection, The Railway Station, Rodger Newby’s Personal Collection “The Old West Room,” and An Accurate Depiction of a Victorian Parlour.
The incredibly detailed rooms are a fun and effective way to learn about some of the community’s history.
