History

This museum was founded and created by the late Keith M. Boyd and is now operated by the Russell Historical Society. The museum contains many photographs and artifacts dating back to the early 1800s. The Museum occupies two buildings, a former church built in 1856 and a former fire hall constructed around 1971.

If you’re lucky enough to come in September, you’ll catch the Russell Heritage Festival, where there will be plenty of activities such as a scavenger hunt, old-time ice cream making, horse-drawn carriages and wagon rides.
