The Muse

Lake of the Woods Museum & Douglas Family Art Gallery

The Muse is an umbrella term for the Lake of the Woods Museum & Douglas Family Art Gallery and is considered by many to be the top attraction in Kenora.

Located on Treaty 3 land and the traditional territory of Anishinaabe, The Muse focuses on representing local artists and Lake of the Woods history while bringing indigenous values, traditions, and history to every guest that steps in.

Whitecap Pavilion

The Whitecap Pavilion at the Kenora Harbourfront is the main stage for many events in Kenora, including concerts, farmers markets and a wide variety of other events.

Bernier Drive historically is the hub of Kenora, the home of wharves, boathouses, beaches, restaurants, water airports and theatres.

 

Matiowski Farmers Market | Wednesday

The Matiowski Farmers Market takes place in Kenora every Wednesday and prides itself on local homemade/grown produce, food, and products.

Running from mid-June to early October, walk around the Matioski Farmers Market and get a taste of what Kenora is all about.

Huskie the Muskie

You can’t miss this giant 12-m-tall Muskie sculpture depicting the famous muskellunge. Rebuilt in 1995, Husky the Musky is a Kenora icon.

Home Town of Mike Richards

Born in Kenora, Mike Richards had a long and storied NHL career playing nearly 800 games.

Richards won Olympic Gold with Team Canada at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, a Memorial Cup with the Kitchener Rangers, and two Stanley Cups with the Los Angeles Kings.

A street in Kenora, near a recreation centre, is named after Mike Richards – Mike Richards Way.

 

The Stanley Cup was won by the Kenora Thistles hockey team in 1907.

Kenora is the smallest city to have ever gotten the Stanley Cup.

Opened in 1969, the Plaza Restaurant offers incredible Greek food as well as a range of other cuisines.

Enjoy the patio in a friendly and professional environment. The Plaza prides itself on its amazing atmosphere, environmental efforts, and great food!

Tunnel Island Trail

Tunnel Island Trail looks over the Winnipeg River and has gorgeous views of the Canadian Shield. The hike features two sections, A and B, which are both accessible to most people.

The land that Tunnel Island Trail is located on was gifted to the Common Ground partnership between the city of Kenora, Grand Council Treaty #3 and the communities of Wauzushk Onigum, Ochiichagwe’Babio’Inging and Obashkaandagaang.
