$1000 Bill Vantage Point

Between 1954 and 1992, the Bank of Canada released thousand dollar banknotes, with the location featured on it being the “$1000 Vantage Point ” in L’Anse-Saint-Jean, with the Pont du Faubourg in the centre of it.

With a short 500-metre hike, you can find yourself gazing upon a thousand-dollar view. Take a moment to stop by the informational plaques to learn more about its history.

Pont du Faubourg

Can you really say you went to L’Anse-Saint-Jean if you didn’t visit the Pont du Faubourg? Translating to the Faubourg Bridge in English, it is a bridge covered with incredible art inside – almost like an outdoor art gallery. The wooden structures on the interior of the bridge cross to form diamond shapes where the pieces of art are kept.

The art collection widely depicts views of the surrounding areas – everything from the harbours to views of the autumn forest, snowy ski slopes, and more. There is even a large statue of a man wearing a bright green coat and holding a paintbrush, so you’ll never miss it if you happen to stumble upon it by accident!
