Louisbourg Lighthouse

02

In the 1730s, the first lighthouse was built to aid sailors to the Fortress of Louisbourg. The second was built in 1842 by the Nova Scotian government but burned down in 1922. The remains are still visible. The current lighthouse is an octagonal shape, constructed in 1923. Visitors enjoy going up to the top of the lighthouse to view the lookout.
