Maison du Frère-Moffet

02

Built by Brother Moffet in 1881, the Maison du Frère-Moffet is the oldest standing home in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. This single-story attic homme received historical monument status in 1978 and has been home to a museum since 1980.

The house retains its original form, reflecting its roots and journey through time. A regional award winner, this home is a tourist delight for those who like to immerse themselves in the town’s history. As it is located within the Old Ville-Marie area, it is a perfect setting to escape from the modern aspects of the town. After touring the home, tour the town on foot or a bicycle taxi!
