Marmoraton Mine

02

This is a great spot to learn about the history of mining in Marmora. There is a fenced lookout as well as several short trails that are open year-round.

Since 1820 Marmora has played a leading role in the development of iron mining. The mine, which has been flooded and filled with water, is now a lake with rich blue colour from the minerals in the area. The area has spectacular views of the water, nearby forests and rolling hills.
