Memorial Clock Tower

08

Created in 1925, the Memorial Clock Tower was put up as a memorial to honour the town residents who died in the first World War, and a plaque of their names can be found on the premises. After the fire that devastated the town in 1929, the clock tower was left standing. Then, after the Second World War, a second memorial was held at the clock tower, and a second plaque was put up.

Now, the Memorial Clock Tower still stands in downtown Wainwright. It is a symbol of the town’s history and the struggles the people of Wainwright have endured. So, if you want to learn more about the town and how it used to be, visit this piece of history.
