Mile Zero Monument

01

If you’re exploring Alberta, make sure to stop and check out the Mile Zero Marker and get a photo with it! This monument marks mile zero of the Mackenzie Highway leading visitors north to Manning, High Level, Hay River, Yellowknife and beyond. It is still an important transportation route to Canada’s north.

This monument is part of the Tom Baldwin Memorial Arboretum and the Historic Mackenzie Highway Park. It is right off the main highway 2 that goes through the town of Grimshaw.

Right beside that is the Northern Alberta Railway car which offers another photo opportunity.
