History

Built in 1930, the monument honoured the veterans who had served in World War 1. This monument was created by two world war I veterans named Dominic and Jonas Odjig. On the historical tour of Wiikwemkoong, Monument hill is the second stop. The plaques placed there explain the history of the spot in more depth for those who have an interest in the history of the monument. Monument hill is a popular tourist attraction, especially for tourists who have a taste for history and culture. This rustic attraction surely would be a history fanatic dream!
