Situated between the five islands that make Tidewater Provincial Park and 104km long, the Moose River is a magnificent river to explore. The river holds many different species of salmon that you can go fishing for, as well as the occasional beluga whale sighting when canoeing.
Not to mention it’s a river that lets you further explore out of the Cochrane district, where the Town of Moosonee is settled. From the river, you can go to the Moose Factory, a community settlement, to explore more attractions. Or flow down with the river stream to the Moose River Migratory Bird Sanctuary, a sanctuary filled with wildlife and protected species. The best part is you can take water taxis to get there. However, if you want a proper tour of the whole lake, there are many touring companies that can take you around, such as Moose River Tours.
