Canada’s Southernmost Winery
The winery owned over 700 acres of vineyards on Pelee Island. 42 degrees North, Peele Island has a latitude like Rioja, Spain, Porto, Portugal, Provence, France, and Tuscany, Italy. It is Canada’s most southerly inhabited point and has a longer growing season than any other wine region in Canada.
The first planting of grapes for wine on Pelee Island began in 1854.
You can buy an amazing Pelee’s wine in Kingsville.
