Petroleum Park is well known for displaying one of Alberta’s first pump jacks. The oil industry is a very important part of Wainwright’s history, and this park honours that. The pump jack displayed in the park represents the ones that first existed in the 1920s and 1930s. The park is a nice place to go for a walk, have a picnic, or enjoy the history of Wainwright.
