From early June to late September

This iconic lighthouse has been around since 1907, projecting a brilliant light to aid boats to find their way at sea. These days, the lighthouse has been retired and is used as a museum to educate tourists about the local history. Guests can find photographs and objects exposed to teach them about the marine history of this beautiful region. Visitors can climb the 57 steps to the top of the lighthouse, where local sea navigation instruments have been installed.

The guided interpretive tours are available in French and English to all who dare enter its walls. The guided tour lasts about 20 minutes and is available at a very affordable price. A picnic area is found outside for those who want to sit down for a bite to eat and admire the seaside view. Come to the Phare-Musée Maritime de Matane with your travelling companions to learn more about the local marine history and admire the sights!
