Pumpkin Park

08

A great place to get outside and take a few pictures in Smoky Lake can be found at Pumpkin Park. With the picnic benches, this park is a great place to sit and have a picnic in the summer or fall air. Around the park, you’ll also find giant concrete pumpkin statues, which make for a great picture spot.

The park is also a common launching point of the Iron Horse Trail. This historic trail was used by the early fur traders and the First Nations and Métis people in the 1700s. It stands as Alberta’s longest continual trail at about 300 km in length. So, make sure you come to learn more about the history of Alberta and maybe venture down part of the Iron Horse Trail yourself.
