June – July

Read by the Sea is a literary festival started in 2000 in River John, which happens mid-summer each year. There are tons of activities over the 3-day event, including ones specifically for younger children, middle schoolers, and young adults.

In the main stage, authors give readings of their works and conduct Q&As. I’ve personally attended this festival, and even though I’m not an avid reader, it was still a fun experience being able to meet the authors and hear more about the ideas behind the stories.
