Constructed in 1874, this building is a Registered Heritage Structure and one of Newfoundland’s last few examples of old mercantile premises.
The museum features artifacts donated by the Rorke family, who had been in the fish and mercantile business for roughly 140 years. On the main floor is the exhibit, “Balancing the Scales,” while the second floor houses the new “Going Foreign” exhibition.
The second store houses a small theatre called The Loft, which is available for various types of entertainment.
