Parc des Chutes Monte-a-Peine-et-des-Dalles

Parc des Chutes Monte-a-Peine-et-des-Dalles is a beautiful park located 25 minutes away from Saint Gabriel, Quebec. It offers a variety of hiking trails, camping areas, lookouts, fishing areas, walkways, and picnic sites, perfect for outdoor activity. There are several very notable guided activities, ranging from hiking and tasting edible plants to observing the basic constellations and stellar objects and an introduction to night sky photography!

A 23km network of hiking trails is located within the park. Trails range from easy to intermediate, with six lookouts and multiple picnic areas stemming from the trails. For camping, the campgrounds are very well maintained with showers, public toilets, firewood, and a vast 22 camping grounds. Camping is priced at $40 per night, and a reservation can be made by phone at 450 883-6060.

Maison Louis-Cyr

Maison Louis-Cyr is a history museum located 20 minutes away from Saint Gabriel. The museum exhibits the life of the strongest man of all time, Louis Cyr and his family. Visitors can explore various aspects of Louis Cyr’s life while walking through his previous home.

The history exhibit is broken into two parts, one part being a rustic dive into a reconstruction of Louis Cyr’s house more than 100 years ago, and the second part being a contemporary exhibit. The exhibition is presented in both French and English and leads you through Louis Cyr’s entire life, accomplishments, and travels.

Vignoble Saint Gabriel

Vignoble Saint Gabriel is a vineyard located 5 minutes away from Saint Gabriel. Vignoble offers very instructive tours with wine samplings and a wonderful, relaxing view. Along with a wide variety of wines, Vignoble also offers local charcuterie and cheese plates which can be enjoyed. Other than the wines, Vignoble also has a museum of ancient tractors. The tractor museum is free to be toured and has roughly 130 antique tractors that visitors can view.

Super Glissades Saint-Jean-de-Matha

Super Glissades Saint-Jean-de-Matha is a snow tubing park less than 20 minutes from Saint Gabriel. Super Glissades Saint-Jean-de-Matha offers 30 illuminated tubing tracks that can reach speeds up to 100km/h in colder weather. In addition to snow tubing, other activities, such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, are also offered. There are also lodging packages, which include overnight stays, meals, and other winter activities.

Ski Montagne Coupee

Ski Montagne Coupee is a ski resort located around 15 minutes away from Saint Gabriel. Ski Montagne Coupee offers 72.3km of cross-country skiing and 19.5km of snowshoe trails. They accommodate to beginner athletes with lighter valley trails to advanced athletes with trails with a high-altitude difference. All trails are mechanically and often maintained, surrounded by mountains and a great view.

Saint Gabriel Public Beach

Located on the edge of Saint Gabriel, the public beach borders Lac Maskinonge. The lake is 10  and is one of the best lakes in Quebec for water sports. Lifeguards are on-site every day from 10 am to 6 pm, depending on the day and temperature. The beach also has parking, a restaurant, beach boards and pedal boards to rent, picnic areas, and public toilets.
