Commonly referred to as the Igloo Cathedral due to its domed structure, this iconic cathedral was designed by Ronald Thom and was built by volunteers in 1972. Unfortunately, the building was seriously damaged in a 2005 arson—and was demolished within the next year. It took several years, but fundraising eventually acquired the necessary millions, and reconstruction was completed in 2012.

You do not have to be even remotely religious to visit the cathedral. You can simply admire the beautifully unique structure, and knowing its history, you will feel in awe of its resurrection.
