Salmon Glacier, the fifth-largest glacier in Canada and the largest in North America you can access by road, is a magnificent marvel of nature located about 35 km north of Stewart.

An unpaved road takes up to 4000’ elevation to the magnificent summit. The road traverses through rich forests and past old mining sites, and the self-guided audio tour provides background and history as you go.

Note – Salmon Glacier can only be accessed from Stewart by driving through Alaska, USA; however, shuttle buses depart daily at 2 pm from the Stewart Visitor Centre ($100/person).
