Sandy Point Lighthouse

03

The Sandy Point Lighthouse is found on the east side of the entrance to the Shippigan Harbour. It was first put into operation in 1880, and today it still brings in thousands of tourists. Built on a pier, this lighthouse is elevated 47 feet above water level and can be seen from a distance of 16 km.

Nearby is Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach, which is a white sand beach that is open year-round. This tidal beach is a popular spot to swim, build sandcastles, and collect seashells.
