The UFO sighting of 1967 sparked a great controversy that continues to this day, and visitors can visit the Shag Harbour UFO Centre to learn more about what happened that day. Since the sighting occurred at Shag Harbour, this fishing community gained much popularity after news of this sighting spread. The museum houses newspaper articles, artifacts, exhibits about the sighting and space, and a gift shop.
