Sheep River Provincial Park

02

Sheep River Provincial Park is in Kananaskis Country, straddling the Rockies to the west and the foothills to the east. There are many species of mammals and birds that call the park it’s home. In particular, the bighorn sheep are the most prominent and are seen all year round.

In Sheep River Provincial Park, you can follow a 0.5 km out-and-back trail near the Kananaskis Improvement that brings you to Sheep River Falls, one of the prettiest falls near Calgary. The area is perfect for various adventures, including hiking the numerous trails, horseback riding, fishing, and camping at the park’s two large campgrounds.
