This charming brick building was built in 1820 by Elisha Andrews, one of Charlotte County’s first High Sheriffs. This Neoclassical-style house is now a Provincial Historic Site. With the help of knowledgeable, costumed guides, you will learn historical facts and imagine what Sheriff Andrew’s daily life might have been like.
Being able to view the period furnishings is an incredible experience. Count just how many fireplaces there are, look around the basement’s kitchen, and find the signature of Louise Andrews (the Sheriff’s daughter), which was scratched into the glass of her bedroom window using her diamond engagement ring! Afternoon tea is served with cookies (or whichever delicious sweets they are offering at the time), which is always a nice bonus.
