Stiriling Festival Theater

A theatre all about the Stirling community, the Stirling Festival Theatre is not just a theatre but a building important to Stirling’s history.

Originally built in 1972 and modelled after Broadway’s Shubert Theatre in New York, the theatre worked as a movie theatre for the community, a place to hold community events, and a place to watch live performances occasionally. However, in 1984, all that changed when the Stirling Performing Arts Committee was formed with founding members who made the theatre a place for proper live entertainment and live performances.

Since then, the theatre has been hosting many live performances, with locals, people from the Ontario region and beyond coming to the theatre just to watch the productions and shows.

Today the theatre has an SFT young company led by artistic director Ken MacDougall providing youth with the opportunity to work on professional productions with actors, directors and choreographers. A recent and popular production hosted in the Stirling Festival Theatre by the company was the “Drivers Drive-ins and Dies,” a murder mystery performance of the chaos that erupts when a body shows up in a mom-and-pop shop.

Farmtown Park

Focused on collecting memories and showing the important agricultural heritage in Stirling, Farmtown Park is a cool heritage museum to visit.

The museum was born in 1986 after there was a founding need from community members to preserve the farming heritage that was important in Stirling.

The museum has many activities and things to do. You can listen to audio stories of how some farming techniques of making cheese or milking cows were made. View the artifacts that show memories of Stirling’s agriculture history, walk through their fun 1930 theme of a small heritage town, and take a tour of the beautiful farm and barn to view their many farm animals such as pigs, cows and rabbits.

The farm is only open from May to September and is a fun place to visit!

King’s Mill Conservation Area

Near the Stirling-Rawdon Information & Tourism Centre, the King’s Mill Conservation Area is a beautiful and picturesque wetland. The conservation area rests in Squires creek, where a former dam and grist mill were built.

The grist mill is still there but not open to the public. It is a perfect area to have a picnic on the picnic benches, fish, walk along the shore, relax and, most local and visitors’ favourites, take a bunch of photos of the beautiful water scenery.

The Apple Store

Established in 1983 by brothers Norman and Marvin Conney, the Conney’s Farm is probably one of Ontario’s best farms to get apples. The Conney brother started with a small apple crop, selling the apples they grew to storefronts on weekends. In 1988 Marvin’s son took on the business, and the rest was history! The farm is still family-owned, specializes in selling apples all over Ontario, and has other productions, such as its 100-head dairy farms.

Today you can visit the farm to pick up all the different types of fresh apples, cheeses, pies and homemade treats. Sometimes the farm will also host a special dinner and event on a certain occasion.

Barn and Country BBQ Catering

A top-rated catering company in Stirling, Ontario, the Barn & Country Catering Food Truck is probably the only place you will ever get to try their food without catering. The catering service was created by two parents Kent and his wife, who bought a 14-arc hobby farm and built it house from the ground up. In 2016 the couple decided to take an existing catering company and rebrand it to create a family business with their 15 children. Since then, their catering services have thrived all over Ontario.

Their food truck allows people to buy their amazing food individually and includes meals such as smoked beef, a full rack of BBQ pork back ribs, smoked beef brisket, mac cheese and much more.
