Before stepping into the store, you can take the chance to admire a beautiful painting on the shop’s exterior created by artist Robert Murray. Once inside, you are greeted with a burst of colours as the store is filled with everything needed for pleasurable and successful quilting endeavours.

Hatched in 1995 by owner Valerie Retzla, The Chicken Coop creates a unique shopping experience for the community and visitors. Valerie is passionate about all things quilting, sewing and crafts. She shares this passion with others through the handmade articles she makes, as well as necessary materials, tools, tips, and advice so that others can get a hand at making something of their own. You can find quirky and unique gift items at The Chicken Coop or participate in a quilting class hosted yearly in Spring and Autumn.
