Goderich’s downtown has an octagonal roundabout known as ‘The Square’.
At the heart of Goderich is Courthouse Park, which is home to The Square, the town’s cultural and arts hub downtown. It features farmer’s markets, art installations and museums, as well as some beautiful greenery to enjoy in the warmer months.
Surrounding the County Courthouse, The Square is a symbol of Goderich’s architectural and cultural heritage, symbolizing the history of Goderich’s development over the years and is a must-visit on your trip to town.
On the afternoon of 21 August 2011, a tornado touched down in the town. The roofs of several buildings around the square had been destroyed, and the trees in the green space around the courthouse had been damaged or uprooted. By 2015, the park had reopened.
