Wallaceburg & District Museum

03

This museum holds rich and local history in glass, industry, marine, and much more. Tourists and locals visit to learn about the city of Wallaceburg. Celebrate this rich history through the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame, the sports room, industrial room, glass gallery, art gallery, research room, toy room, and other unique exhibits.

In 1878, James Paris Lee and his brother John perfected a rifle with a box magazine in Wallaceburg. This rifle later became an antecedent to the famous Lee–Enfield rifle. A well-trained gunman could fire approximately 15-30 shots a minute. The prototype was tested successfully in Wallaceburg and is currently housed at the Wallaceburg and District Museum.
